Meet our Award Winning Kid’s Ice Cream – Little Bloc

By Liena Wright _ March 9th, 2018

Launched last year our range of ice cream for kids has just scooped its first award!

Last night Little Bloc was recognised in the ‘Best Innovation’ category at the Garbutt and Elliott Yorkshire Food Entrepreneur awards.

The awards ceremony took place in York at The Hospitium, where we joined over 120 of Yorkshire’s best producers, manufacturers, farmers and growers to celebrate the local food and drink business.

These awards recognise the best amongst Yorkshire’s Food and Drink producers, and retailers and categories included Innovation, growth, partnership working, branding, market resilience, exporting and taste.

Although we were up against some of Yorkshire’s finest innovative brands including Eyes Brewing, KC Caviar and Sweet Revolution we knew we stood a great chance, and are so proud to have won.

Innovation is one of our core missions at Northern Bloc, and in a world of increasing rates of childhood obesity and sugar consumption it was important for us to bring out something that ticked more boxes than just being a great tasting ice cream for children. Little Bloc has no refined sugars, is 100% natural and made from the highest quality ingredients including Venezuelan chocolate and Alphonso mangoes whilst being only 90kcal per 100ml.

A few words from Josh: “We saw that there was a gap in the market for a refined sugar free amazing tasting ice cream for young kids, which is why we’ve created these new flavours. It was so important to us to reduce sugar levels, and to ensure that Little Bloc tastes and feels as good as its older siblings. It’s time for some hype around kid’s nutrition.

Thank you to Garbutt and Elliott and all the judges. It means at lot to all of us at Northern Bloc.
