NORTHERN BL°C’s ice cream for dogs is the ulti-mutt ice cream treat for four-legged friends. Packed with fresh fruit and lactose-free, our new dog ice cream has been given a round of a-paws by leading canine dietary consultants at Elmo’s Kitchen, approving the recipe for pooches.
Kristina Johansen, canine dietary consultant from Elmo’s Kitchen explained the benefits of the ingredients in our recipe: “Introducing fruit and vegetables to a dog’s diet is important. They’re packed full of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants which help keep your dog’s body happy and healthy, just as in human diets. This ice cream contains plenty of water, making it not only refreshing but also hydrating. It’s also totally natural with no artificial nasties. And, unlike a standard dairy ice cream recipe, this recipe is entirely lactose-free. This is especially important because lactose can be difficult for dogs to digest and may lead to digestive issues, which is why it’s important not to share human ice cream with them. This recipe has been developed entirely with dogs in mind and is a treat to be offered no more than once per day for a 20kg dog and less for a smaller dog.”
